The MMMC is an independent, non profit, incorporated community group that has a direct interest and involvement in the management and sustainability of the internationally recognised Macquarie Marshes. Most members of the Committee are Marshes landholders.
The Macquarie Marshes is a large non terminal wetland in central west NSW and covers approximately 200,000ha, 88% of which is privately owned. The Macquarie Marshes Nature Reserve makes up the remaining 12% and is managed by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.
This website contains information on issues related to the Marshes eg Water, Agriculture, Research etc. There are also links to other sites that have information relating the the Macquarie Marshes or wetland management in general.
